REV, CHRISTIE BATURE was part of an all-female music band called CHERISH in Kaduna. She was the drummer and Lead Vocalist. This group caused a revolution amongst womenfolk across the country; women felt challenged to learn to play instruments as they watched CHERISH minister at functions.
Christie embraced full-time ministry after being ordained a Reverend in 1992, people told her not to, that it could not be God simply because no single lady was in full-time music ministry at the time. That didn’t stop Christie.
She was the First to start gospel concerts in the City of Port Harcourt and it was in 1 of such Concerts that her then would-be Husband was invited and the rest is history. Their marriage is blessed with 7 children. She founded the Sine Qua Non Ministries currently involved in Campus Outreaches, COUPLES ministry, Youth Ministry, and WOMEN’S Ministry. She founded the Port Harcourt City Mass Choir with a 240-man Membership from 120 Churches.
In 2003, she inaugurated PACK Network, a ministry to the Addicted which has blossomed into a full-fledged rehabilitation center, and in 2014 she opened probably the only Drugs and other addiction rehab Centre in the South-south of Nigeria.
